I have been lucky enough to live and work in Bermuda for most of my life. It is so easy to exist in a world where everything is taken for granted. That said, it's so important that I strive to do more and find better ways of doing them, to learn more, and live each moment to the best of my ability. Helping me do that are my inspirations Rachel, the ballet dancer who is 12 and Brandon, the sportsman, who is 10. They are the reasons I am so overly concerned about the world they are growing up in.

I wish I had the power to right all the wrongs, but I don't, so I challenge myself every day to make a difference, to see and feel the light of hope, and know that there are millions out there like me who are doing the same.

I have recently began reading “Not on our watch” by Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) and John Pendergast, about the atrocities in Darfur. I do not believe that you have to be connected to be apalled by this tragedy. The death toll is beyond anything we can imagine and it is long time that the people of the world did not accept this in Darfur or anywhere.

I implore you to take a few moments and explore a cause, a challenge that motivates and inspires you. Darfur is just one of those causes, one that means a lot. Please find the time to help. It's not only your world that matters… it's everyone's.
